so it seems that a thermal fax machine works best for making the stencil, can someone list a few brands or places to buy a good one ?

there are many many types and brands , the best way unless you know of a good brand as they are all good in there own way subject to price , is to go to your supplier and ask them for specs on what they list and if they have had and what they recomend.
