Ok, you would need 5 to 6 pots. For this test I will say 5pots.Your 1st pot would be 1drop ink to 4drops distilled water, witch hazel, ext. Your 2nd pot would be 1drop ink to 3 drops distilled water. 3rd pot is 1drop ink to 2 drops of distilled water. The 4th pot would be 1drop ink to 1drop distilled water. The 5th and final pot would be solid orange.

Only way I've covered is the solid orange then 3/4 ink then distilled, half and half and 3/4 water to ink.
I could only imagine you'd need to start off with a lighter shade for tiger to make darker parts stand out but as I've never done a full colour piece I wouldn't know.
Of course if it's possible to darken the orange thenI'd be wrong.

EXTRA CREDiT: the only way to darken the orange or any other color is not by adding anything to the color but to have the grey wash applied correctly. This will give the orange the aperance that it is darker.

O BOY TOTALLY WRONG !!! TRY AGAIN at the moment you are shading in gradiants of the same colour which you can do but all you will do is take the same colour down to be able to flick out to nothing, zach if i hear you adding greywash to colour to darken i will CUT YOUR BALLS OFF !!!!
PUT GREY WASH IN ORANGE AND YOU GET MUD NOT COLOUR CONTRASTING, TRY AGAIN PEOPLE and this time think out of the box !!!! and look up colour hues to learn what colours are in what !!!!

I wasn't talking about adding greywash to the orange. I was say to do your shading and then do the orange. Buy doing the proper shading before you do any color it will make the orange look darker. NEVER EVER MIX GREYWASH to any color

at last !!!!! the hues of orange are red and yellow so to darken use red in small quantities and to lighten you use yellow again in small quatities then you have a real colour of itself with its on hues , the reason i put this up is on researching for my new book i have come across so many people that seem to think the only way to lighten and darken a colour is white and black when it is not , so to be more experienced in the trade you need to learn what colours or hues make up each colour then to lighten and dark you use the colours on hues , yes white and black would be used in some cases but only a very small amount of time , WELL DONE ZACH the shot in the dark was the right one .
